Gardening Gifts Part 2: Green Gifts for a Gardener/Garden-Lover Gifts

Posted on: May 10th, 2012 by jbaker No Comments

I love being surrounded by plants, flowers & trees.

My dearest friends all know that my dream is to have a garden a la the Barefoot Contessa where I casually stroll into back yard right before guests arrive to pick out fresh basil and ripe red juicy tomatoes for a delectable, garden fresh taste…

But since I live in the city I have re-written that dream into a more practical, sustainable reality: a lovely little shelf in my kitchen where little pots of basil, mint & rosemary are being grown, and a beautiful bowl on my table piled high with farmer’s market tomatoes.  Both have yielded delicious results and so my dream is partially satisfied for now – but for those of you out there with yards, or those of you with friends who posses (or are in the process of acquiring) green thumbs – oh!   How jealous I am that you actually have the space to create a green heaven of veggies and flowers!  Take advantage of all that you have in the name of those of us locked in by cities, and indulge in that perfect weekend of soil and birds and green growth!

And if this sounds more like someone you know and love than you yourself… if you have a friend who loves nature, loves gardening, or is just starting on their garden creating journey and you want to encourage their efforts…

I have the perfect good green gardening gifts for you!
